The phrase self-love is often used these days, but what does it really mean?
According to many experts, self-love has been defined as high regard and appreciation for oneself, one’s happiness, and well-being. It’s when you choose yourself above others even if it means losing some people in your life. Self-love is also about prioritizing self-care through exercise, healthy eating, and quality lifestyle changes.
Now that we’re clear about the concept, let’s talk about the benefits!
When you love yourself, you:
- Attract miracles and successes beyond imagination
- Raise your vibration
- Shift your mindset
If this is something that you desire to have in your life, read on…
In my personal journey, I’ve learned that your energy and vibrations are directly connected. We are all made up of energy, and when we are around one another, we can feel each other’s vibe.
Vibrations can be high or low depending on where we are at in life. In order to manifest high vibration and attract miracles and successes beyond imagination, we need to learn to love ourselves.
Defining my personal values was a game-changer for creating meaning, success, and fulfillment in my life.
Over four years ago, I felt an emptiness and sadness inside of me. Sure, there were things outside of me that made me happy, such as traveling and spending time with my boyfriend. But in the moments that those things were not present I felt alone.
It wasn’t until I learned about personal values and made conscious choices around how I would spend my free time or what I would focus on, that I was able to raise my vibration.
Personal values are the things in our lives that are most important to us, I had no clue what mine were until I was about 36 years old. No matter what age you are, I’m hoping that this post brings clarity for you.
My personal values are freedom, creativity, and self-expression. Once I identified that I was able to make everyday choices that reflected and revolved around those 3 values, I would ask myself: “Does going to this specific party or an event align with my personal values?” If the answer was no, I would thank the host for inviting me and let them know that I wouldn’t be able to make it.
I admit that is hard to say “no” at times, and people may even stop inviting you to events, and that’s completely fine! Remember that people-pleasing can be a lost cause in your journey towards self-love. When you prioritize self-love and establish boundaries, you build your self-esteem to form healthier and happier relationships – with yourself and others.
We should be moving towards our goals, rather than away from them. Our friends and family are with us for a limited time but we are the one person who is with us 24/7. If we are disconnected from our values, we will spend hours binge-watching Netflix or spend our weekends hanging out with people who don’t add anything meaningful to our lives.
Give these questions some thought:
- Are you happy with who you are?
- What are the things that are unique about you?
- What’s important to you in your life experience?
- What kind of person do you need to be to become happy?
- Are you honest with yourself?
- Do you forgive yourself for your mistakes?
All of these questions relate to self-love. Remember that you are what you value.
We work so hard but don’t realize why we don’t achieve the things we want to. Once you align both self-love and personal values, you will be able to shift your mindset and attract success. As a result, when you will achieve something incredible, you will see yourself as more valuable. In fact, you will add meaning to the world and increase your vibration.
So raise your vibration and share your light with others!
