The past few weeks, the topic of ‘COVID-19’ is on everyone’s lips and all over social media, which is causing a lot of fear, high levels of anxiety and paranoia.

This issue is definitely horrifying for all of us and it is an extremely painful time, as we are coping with this new virus that currently has no vaccine or cure. Additionally, the nature of this virus is unclear as healthcare is still trying to understand how it operates and affects our lungs. This virus has been considered as a ‘pandemic’ by the World Health Organisation (WHO), and slowly we are getting into a herd mentality where people are influencing each other and their emotions are dictating their behavior, instead of taking the time while on lockdown to become more spiritual and look at things from a logical perspective.

So here are my two bits on this topic to ease you and give you some tools to ensure that you and your loved ones are safe, calm and in the best of health.

– Morning Meditation –

Before you even begin your day, ground yourself by taking deep breaths and then imagine beautiful white light from above flowing down towards you. This is source energy (whether you call it God or Allah or Jesus or Ganesha it is perfectly fine), but this is the higher power protecting us all from the outside world. See and FEEL this beautiful white light flowing through your body – your head, entire face, shoulders, arms, torso, backside, stomach and legs, right down to the bottom of your feet.

Once connected with the Divine White Light, allow it to expand further within your mind to engulf the environment – your room, your home, your city, country and even the entirety of this planet. In that moment, affirm “My loved ones and I are safe, healthy and protected by the Universe. The planet is healing and everyone is healthy.”

– Spend LESS Time on Social Media –

Remember, that what makes news news-worthy is worst-case stories, but what we are not hearing about (as frequently) is how many lives have been saved, how many people have healed, how many kind acts of compassion and love have happened thanks to this pandemic. The media can be quite scary to the point that you get consumed by the news and horror stories. That is when anxiety and fear is going to set in. So yes, keep abreast with facts from trusted sources like the WHO and the CDC, but quit feeding your mind with unproductive news that halt your manifestations and from reaching your highest self.

– Bath in Gratitude –

gratitudeOur brain’s natural negativity bias means that when faced with uncertainty, we’re more likely to think about what might go wrong than what might go right. It’s also natural to feel fear about the future – and fear only adds fuel to the fire.

What’s the solution? Take 5 minutes from your day to write down 3 things you’re grateful for during these uncertain times. These can be anything at all, but when you make them specific and truly pause to appreciate them, you allow your brain to pause its negative spiral and feed it more productive, healthy thoughts. For example, your parents are healthy, your friends are staying in touch with you, an abundance of food to keep you nourished, the good news that you came across etc.

By simply starting to think about something you’re grateful for, you release the hormone, serotonin, which gives you a mood boost, and dopamine, which encourages your brain to keep looking for things to appreciate.

You can do this in your journal, write it down on a post-it note and stick it to a jar, or doodle out people or even your pet that you are grateful for.

– Intentional Kindness: Reach Out And Be Kind To Someone –

When we feel stressed or worried, we tend to shut down and ruminate on our worries. So, we have to practice getting out of our heads and connecting to other people who also need that same support. The best way to do this is by intentionally carrying tiny acts of kindness.

Text a friend to check-in. Smile at anyone you come across at the supermarket. Find a way to reassure an anxious family member. There tiny positive interactions with others not only make us happier and raises our vibration but also help us feel supported when we’re going through difficult times.

– Boost Your Immunity – 

Boost Your Immunity

As we know, fear impacts your vibration and mental health. Did you know that fear also weakens your immune system? Why would we choose to send energy to what we do not want to manifest? Focus on the good, the healthy, the happy and trust that this disease will disappear in no time like other past pandemics and complete health for the planet will be manifested.

There are simple ways to keep yourself healthy and improve your immune system. Working on your physical diet is as important as your mental diet. Reduce the intake of sugary processed food, consume lots of fresh healthy food like fruits and vegetables, add immune boosters to your meals like turmeric, pepper, raw honey, incorporate daily exercise in whatever way possible (walk, yoga, bike ride etc) and get 7 to 8 hours of sleep.

And finally, how about changing our perspective and thinking of it as the Corona Virus is giving you a gift. The gift of time, to read that book, to play with your children, to spend time with your loved ones, to watch and learn from that YouTube tutorial you have been wanting to…you have time now!

This morning practice will help ground you, put you in a great mental space, and help you feel calm to start your day from the right mindset.
